    A Century of Pro-Level Basketball Along the 135th Street Corridor The Harlem Cultural Archives is proud to be a member of the team responsible for the renovation/repainting of Howard Bennett Park in Harlem in formal recognition of the 100th anniversary of the iconic New York Rens basketball team - one of only two teams to be inducted into the Springfield, MA Basketball Hall of Fame as a team. The newly refurbished basketball court located on Harlem's135th St. corridor, one of the most significant in Harlem’s rich history, will join an elite group of past and present “fixtures” - 22 West, Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, Harlem Hospital Center, Harlem YMCA, and where the first Black professional league game was played.     ABOUT US Harlem Cultural Archives is a 501(c)(3) not-for- profit Historical Society, holding a charter from the New York State Bd. of Regents. The organization was founded in 2008 by three Harlem denizens, Glenn Hunter - Educator, Keith Hunter, MD and film producer, and Ken Sargeant - Media Arts specialist, for the purpose of gathering important oral history from the Harlem Community. We currently enjoy the support and counsel of a diverse board of directors with interests and scholarly acumen that emcompasses the full range of the Harlem pantheon . To date, we have conducted videotaped interviews with nearly 200 accomplished Harlem residents. Glenn Hunter - HCA Co-Founder and Co- Executive Director. Glenn is a career educator with specializations in math and information technology. In addition to his work as an Adjunct Lecturer at Baruch College, Glenn is a tireless community organizer and advocate. Ken Sargeant - HCA Co-Founder and Co-Executive Director. Ken is a veteran commercial and editorial photographer, filmmaker and cultural entrpreneuer, with a specialization in the neighborhood and organizational documentaries. Keith Hunter, MD - HCA Co-Founder and Co-Executive Director. Keith is a community health advocate, film producer and owner of Division 12 media. His recent credits include "Obama in Ghana" and "Urban Dragons".
